Since she was 56, Ernestine Shepherd has been working out to keep fit. Today, at 80, his body sculpted like an experienced bodybuilder impresses the canvas. Discover his incredible story!

In the bodybuilding world, Ernestine Shepherd is a UFO. At 80, she is registered in the Guinness Book of World Records as the oldest female competitor, a status she has honoured since 2010. But how did this lady come to lift the cast iron when she could have opted for a peaceful retirement?

It all started when she was 56. Originally from Baltimore, Ernestine Shepherd and her sister Mildred Blackwell try on new swimsuits and understand that their bodies look their age. They no longer have the silhouette of yesteryear. But as Ernestine is a former model, this observation is a bit hard to swallow.

From then on, they both started aerobics. His sister then began to enter bodybuilding competitions under the name Velvet. Ernestine follows her and adopts the name Ernie. Despite the death of his sister in 1992, Ernestine did not abandon the weight room and continued to sculpt his body.

It was above all to pay tribute to her sister that she wished to continue along this path, and with success. She won two bodybuilding titles and completed nine marathons. With her entry in the Guinness Book of World Records, she becomes a true icon of the bodybuilding universe. She coaches a senior class in Baltimore and also works as a personal coach.

Her days are regulated like music paper: she starts them at 3 in the morning, with meditation then jogging. At 8am, she starts her personal training sessions and only goes to bed at 10pm. Her husband, Colin, who has been sharing her life for more than 60 years, is in charge of preparing food in accordance with her diet. This diet includes rice, chicken, nuts, oats, eggs and lots of water.

This year, when she just reached the symbolic bar of 80 years, she published a book entitled "Determined, Dedicated, Disciplined To Be Fit"...
