Man what a journey it has been. I had been morbidly obese for the
majority of my life. In the picture on the left I was 17 days away from
my 18th birthday. I wore a size 32 in womens pants, and 4x shirt in
which I had to travel an hour away to even purchase. The following 10
years, my weight fluctuated as quickly as I changed diets. (Chronic Yoyo
dieter here). What changed my life was someone taking the time to talk
to me about nutrition, calories, macros, exercise (many thank yous to Kris Gethin and Fouad Abiad
for your guidence and programs which I can contribute to my success)
and how it is relevant to the journey I was about to embark... A life
transformation.
The one of
many things that helped and continues to help me is being transparent
with myself and others. Taking real, half naked pictures that show me at
my most vulnerable state, sharing them with others, and seeing others
be just as transparent.
To this day I take pictures to compare and contrast the differences. Not to judge but rather to work on areas that I would like to see change, it keeps me accountable, and when I get down I can show myself how far I have come.
I encourage you no matter where you are in your journey, to take these pictures, share them with this group of like-minded individuals on their journeys to health. Be transparent in all things, so YOU can truly become your best self.
You are worth the time and effort it takes to live a full, healthy and happy life! Happy Sunday Fit family!
