It’s also the 5 year anniversary of the day I hit my breaking point and decided I was READY and WILLING to put in the work to lose 50lbs, once and for all
It’s also also the 4 year anniversary of when I hit my weight loss goal.
The photo on the left was taken on the day of my 21st birthday. I remember it like it was yesterday. My mom flew out to come celebrate with me, and I wanted to go to this beautiful flower field location to take cute pics bc *all my friends were doing it.* But instead, I left the park on the verge of tears. 2 hours of posing, sucking it in, trying to turn my face and hips for just the right angle. I hated every last picture.
I had been “asleep at the wheel” for years. Living off of greasy university food, dominoes pizza, and California burritos. But this day….this was the day I woke the EFFFF up.
I cried, a lot. And eventually I picked my head back up. I told my mom my plan and that I was finally ready. She took me shopping for cute workout clothes I was actually EXCITED to wear. She bought me basic cooking supplies and a Costco membership so I could start meal prepping. She encouraged me WITHOUT making me feel guilty about where I was at.
With the proper support system, all I needed was the right strategy. Eventually, I found a system which worked for me, and the weight began to melt away.
