Compound exercises, on the other hand, are exercises that involve multiple muscle groups working together.



These types of exercises are often more effective at building strength and muscle mass, as they allow you to use heavier weights and work more muscle groups at the same time. Some examples of compound exercises for the abs include:

  •     Planks: This exercise involves holding your body in a straight line, supported by your forearms and toes, for a set amount of time. It works the abs, as well as the back, shoulders, and legs.
  •     Russian twists: This exercise involves sitting on the ground with your knees bent and your feet flat on the ground. You then lift your feet off the ground, keeping your knees bent, and twist your upper body from side to side, using your abs to initiate the movement.


Both isolation and compound exercises can be effective for developing strong abs and a strong overall physique. The key is to find a balance that works for you and to vary your routine to challenge your muscles and continue to see progress.
