The fact is, however, that, when properly done, weight training is an excellent method of achieving the maximum health benefits of exercise while maintaining, or perhaps even enhancing, the feminine figure and allure that many women are seeking and many men are seeking, in their own way, as well.

Specific instruction on a weight training program for women for health, fitness, and weight management is beyond the scope of this article. However, by beginning with light weights and by progressing slowly while maintaining a regular exercise schedule, a woman should be able to sculpt and mold the outward appearance of her body while accruing the inner and outer health benefits of exercise.

Women thinking about getting fit should realize that weight lifting, or, as I like to say, training, is a wonderfully effective way of getting all they want from an exercise program. The people they have pictured in their minds all these years when they heard the words "weight lifting" have taken an excellent form of exercise for everyone and have chosen to take it to extreme levels to achieve specific results.

Fortunately, the same form of exercise can easily be modified to suit the needs of almost anyone, male or female. I myself am 64 years old (male) and work out regularly with weights. In fact, these workouts are the cornerstone of my health and fitness lifestyle.

Why should women lift weights? Simply put, because "training" with weights, which does involve lifting them, of course, is one of the best ways to create and maintain a healthy body, and mind, capable of experiencing life's pleasurable moments to the fullest.
