While being thin is a pride among women, things are totally different in the world of men. Most men would be ashamed of a stick-thin figure. In fact, most of them would be willing to gain muscle by working out just to have manlier figure. Workout the Entire Body with Squats


If you are just beginning, make sure to allot enough time for squats and other types of full body workouts. They should be part of your body building program because they work out the entire body. Note that full body workout is very important for beginners.

You surely have found some body building routines in fitness magazines, channels, websites, etc. It is not that they do not work. However, these workout routines are designed for those who are done with the foundation.

Improve Muscles with Compound Exercises

When you are working to gain muscle, the compound exercises are also a staple. In fact, you can leave out the isolation exercises but not compound exercises.

You can skip bicep curls and replace them with chin-ups and pull-ups. Barbell rows are also worth the time. These workouts would tense the muscles in your arms, back and shoulders really fast.

If you have been doing tricep kickbacks and don't see good results, you may want to try a combination of dips, overhead press and bench press. Leg extensions can also be replaced with deadlift and squat combo.



Barbells Over Dumbbells

There is nothing wrong about using dumbbells if you want to gain muscles. However, pick barbells if you are to choose between barbells and dumbbells. Nevertheless, you cannot deny the fact that dumbbells can be helpful if you want to do support exercises for barbell-related routines.

You may also consider spending more time on barbells than on machines. These machines make you settle on a fixed pattern of movements. Barbells would let you be in control so you can build more muscles if you want to.

If you are not sure of what you are doing, be sure to consult an expert or at least read tips for weight loss and body building.

There are many workout methods to gain muscle to choose from but if you don't have the entire day to spare for gym activities, make sure to include the above mentioned exercises. Don't forget squats for full body workout and do compound exercises instead of isolation exercises. Be sure to use barbells over dumbbells and machines, too.
