Question
How true is it that light weights builds muscles faster ?

What's important
is form and time under tension. Big lifts done well and slowly will
build some crazy muscle. Bad form and jerky moves will just get you
injured. Resistance bands, cables and light weight are good for gaining
muscle but better used to "finish off" a
muscle. For example go heavy with a chest press then finish with cable
fly's or do a drop set where each set is lighter untill you reach
failure. Mix up your training and don't go heavy every time as your
joints take a lot of strain with heavy compound lifts like squats and
deadlifts. Personally I've found doing one week heavy lifting followed
my one week lighter and more reps was a good way to mix up training and I
got good results. These days I tend to start heavy with compound lifts
then move onto lighter weights to isolate muscles or for function
