Learning to Tone Your Muscles Isn't Easy :

"I just want to get more toned" you've probably heard someone say. What they usually mean by this is that they want firmer and more well defined muscles.

For women the concern is becoming too bulky and appearing too masculine. For men, it means they don't necessarily want to look like super-freak-from-outer-space Ronnie Coleman (Google him if you don't know who he is and you will see his pictures) but definitely want tighter muscles.



In both cases the prescription is the same. Physically, becoming toned just means that your muscles swell up a little more and your body fat reduces. When this happens the muscles are more visible and appear tighter.

To achieve this you need to train with weights, do some cardio and eat a sensible diet. I will explore each of these in a little more depth.
