Female bodybuilding continues to gain popularity day by day. More and
more women wish to achieve near-perfect symmetry to their bodies by
having defined curves in all the right places. Women have also
recognized the importance of a bodybuilding workout in making their
muscles firm and toned. Not only do well-formed muscles achieved through
workouts help develop a beautiful body, they also improve one's health
and physical strength.
Female bodybuilding does not differ all
that much from male bodybuilding. Men and women have the same number of
muscles that react and contract in the same manner to a physical
workout. The main difference between the two sexes is that men have
testosterone, a muscle-building hormone, while women have estrogen, a
fat-storing hormone. This does not mean, however, that women are more
likely to gain weight than men are. Women who work out adequately can
burn fat and develop more muscles.
