Weight loss, Strive for progress, not perfection :

Weight loss, Strive for progress, not perfection
I saw this quote the other day, “Strive for progress, not perfection” and it couldn’t have hit me harder. It took me a long time, years really, to let this sink in. I always thought if I couldn’t “diet perfectly” or workout 5 times a week, I shouldn’t waste my time. If I messed up and ate a few slices of pizza when I started a diet, I thought I was a failure and just gave up. Years and years of fad diets, failures, striving to be perfect only to realize I was far from it, and I finally figured out its all about progress. Doesn’t matter how small that progress is. ⁣

For example this week I beat myself up bc I went over points and had a Cheeseburger and fry from McDonald’s on Friday. I wasn’t perfect to the plan. But you know what the progress was?

I normally would have gotten a large fry, a milkshake, and a double cheeseburger and probably finished my kids nuggets. So while I wasn’t perfect, I didn’t give myself enough credit of the progress I’ve made. ⁣

As long as you’re progressing, you’re in the right direction. No matter how big or small. You’re never going to do this perfectly. Not one of us has it ever will do it perfect. Ya know, that whole being human thing 🤪 ⁣
