Weight loss, Almost 30 lbs up from my lowest (183 lbs)
Starting my Monday morning super bloated (happy period week!), almost 30 lbs up from my lowest (183 lbs) but feeling SO GOOD. I used to spend my vacations laying in a hotel bed.

I’d come home exhausted and in pain with swollen ankles. The whole vacation was resting and eating. I’d need a vacation from my vacation.

Now, don’t get me wrong. Like a lot of you, I’m not feeling my best overall. But it’s not the weight that’s gotten me, it’s the lifestyle shifts.

With my move, I lost my routine (my trainer, my gym access, my local lake walks), all at the start of the pandemic - so I never established new routines.

Most days, I don’t hit my step goal. I am tired all of the time and my once toned muscles are showing more loose skin than ever.

I don’t like to say I’m going to “reset, get back on track, etc.” because that’s not what I’m doing. This lifestyle is a balancing act of healthy choices and indulgence. Activity and rest. I may be leaning a little too far into one direction right now, and that’s okay.

I’m working on establishing new routines and filling my days with the things that keep me happy and healthy. Choosing a day of paddle boarding over a Netflix marathon. Grabbing my journal instead of a snack. Going for a bike ride instead of cooking a dessert.

These are the everyday choices that make up our life and our balance. We must remember to choose wisely!
