16 tips to prevent cardiovascular disease : 8 - Monitor your blood pressure

8 - Monitor your blood pressure :
High blood pressure (too high blood pressure in the arteries, which damages them) is the primary risk factor for cardiovascular disease (and particularly stroke). From the age of 40, everyone should have their blood pressure (blood pressure) measured at least once a year.

People who have one or more risk factors (hypertensive parents, overweight, sedentary) are advised to have their blood pressure measured before this age and regularly thereafter. This makes it possible to detect hypertension (blood pressure above 14/9) and to treat it, but also to put in place effective hygiene and dietary rules to lower blood pressure in the event of pre-hypertension.
