Question/something to think of.... What's the point of ingesting protein before/during a show? Why not just eat your carbs/fats when your whole goal is to fill up/stay full?

Mainly to slow digestion a little bit so you don’t just spike then crash. Right before you get on stage though you definitely don’t want any protein. I cut it off about 4-6 hours before the stage. But you def don’t need a lot of proteins and fats leading into a show. 3-5 Oz depending on your digestion. Worst thing you can do is stuff yourself and have a full/bloated stomach on stage.


On the day of the show there isn’t as much of a specific need for it apart from for satiety. The carbs you’re eating will be protein sparing and the 8/9 hours from waking up till stepping on stage isn’t going to cause muscle loss.
I usually just add 10/15g protein from lean meat for satiety with some of my meals on show day.
