50 lbs. down and 30 more to go.
What I’ve learned from my weight loss journey so far is losing weight does not equal happiness.
I was so focused on my outward appearance and how I would look that I ignored how much healthier my eating habits are, my increased activity level, my significantly improved blood work and no longer pre-diabetic. That’s what should have mattered to me and they do now.

I still have my moments of extreme, distorted beliefs about myself and base my self-worth off of the scale but I’m working on it and it’s getting better.
As I enter my second phase of weight loss and lose these last 30 lbs. I now know what I need to focus on and that is my mental health, losing these horrible, long held ideologies about myself, gaining muscle, eating enough protein / veggies / fruit and drinking more water!
