18 tips to prevent cardiovascular disease : 18 - Drinking red wine (in moderation)

18 - Drinking red wine (in moderation)
Moderate consumption of red wine has a protective cardiovascular effect (especially in men over 40 years of age and postmenopausal women), particularly because it contains resveratrol, an antioxidant with anti-aggregating and vasodilatory properties.

A meta-analysis* based on the results of 18 scientific studies has shown, for example, that wine can reduce the risk of cardiovascular mortality by up to 34% for moderate doses - from 1 to 2.5 glasses/day. "The right dose of red wine for cardiovascular prevention is 1 glass for women and 2 glasses for men," says Professor Claire Mounier-Vehier.
