Why can't you build muscle by working out? You're not doing the right exercises
You should always do the exercises that are best suited to your current needs and abilities. Exercising with advanced athletes such as the jet-footed may not be a good idea. You may not have the mobility, stability or motor skills to perform this movement perfectly. If you are a practitioner with little experience, focus mainly on compound movements that involve several joints and muscle groups to develop the most muscle mass.

In a 10-week study 1 conducted at a Brazilian university, 29 untrained men were divided into two groups. One group performed two compound upper body exercises, while the other group performed the same compound movements and two monoarticular exercises. Both groups increased their strength and muscle mass, but men who had also performed single joint exercises had no additional gain in mass or muscle strength.
So, if you are a beginner in strength training, you should focus mainly on polyarticular movements such as pulling, bench press, squat to build muscle. Don't waste your time doing only mono joint exercises like curls at the bar for biceps or leg extensions for legs.
