Why can't you build muscle by working out? You do too many rounds until you fail
You do too many rounds until you fail :
Far too many practitioners go beyond their abilities: thinking that this is the only way to become more muscular and stronger, they do almost all their series to the point of exhaustion by abusing forced repetitions. However, this is not the case.
It is true that making series until failure makes significant progress. On the other hand, if this technique is abused, it will not be possible to recover before the next round: it will therefore be to the detriment of all the efforts that have just been made.

Studies show that if several series of the same exercise are carried out until failure, less strength is gained in the long term than if only one series is carried out until failure. On the other hand, research indicates that by systematically going as far as muscle exhaustion at each series, the IGF-1 level is lowered, resulting in less weight gain.
Solution: A rule of thumb is to do only the last one or two series of an exercise until failure. By doing so, you will continue to work your muscles, without falling into overtraining.
