Why can't you build muscle by working out? You don't get enough rest
Your muscles get bigger and stronger between workouts. If you do not devote enough time to muscle recovery, this process cannot be implemented and you will continue to train without increasing your muscle mass. Give yourself at least 48 hours between workouts for a given muscle. The higher your level is, the more you will need to recover.

Professional bodybuilders take several days off between each session of the same muscle so that all the muscle mass has recovered. And remember, sleep is essential for muscle growth. In this study, lack of sleep was found to contribute to increased cortisol secretion; decreased testosterone and growth hormone production. The first consequence of this is a decrease in protein synthesis and loss of muscle mass. Try to get your 7 to 9 hours of sleep every night.
