Female bodybuilder and top lawyer Christina Chinnock makes the pages of the world's biggest website – another step forward for female bodybuilding

Female bodybuilder Christina Chinnock is the subject of an immensely positive piece about womens muscle on the world's biggest news website the Daily Mail.

Despite the IFBB ban on female bodybuilding articles like the one about Christina are a massive boost for the sport.

Any coverage of female bodybuilders in the mainstream press helps shift the pubic perception of muscular women from freak to aspirational figure.

And today's piece about Christina is a fine example – even though she is technically a figure competitor of course.

It kicks off in true Daily Mail cringe-making pun style saying: “She's a real bar-belle: Female lawyer swaps her wig and gown for a bikini and wins top award as a bodybuilder

“Christina Chinnock, 45, only began training in October last year.

“ She says intense workouts have helped her cope with the pressures of being a working mother.”

Christina herself is fortuitously both beautiful, a successful barrister and a working mum.

That's so many Daily Mail boxes ticked that the execs will have had to take a cold shower.

But all publicity is good publicity.

And mother-of-four Christina Chinnock, from Swansea, south Wales, who scooped the top prize at the 2013 British Natural Bodybuilding Federation Welsh Championships, is glowing about the sport, saying: “It was a huge personal achievement for me. I'm still a practising barrister and I'm a busy mum of four, so that adds to the sense of victory.
'I'm flying the flag for the working mums and showing what we can achieve.'

She added: 'I have always been interested in fitness, it's not an off the cuff thing.
'But I have only been seriously training since about October last year.

'I set myself the challenge and decided to enter the championships.
'If you have a busy lifestyle, it gives you that challenge and a personal sense of achievement.”
