Any thoughts on the optimal amount of training to do each week for maximum strength gains?

Any thoughts on the optimal amount of training to do each week for maximum strength gains? Have there been studies on this? I really like to train everyday (some days twice) but I will occasionally take a rest day, keep getting told I probably should train less. Thanks!

Honestly, whoever is telling you to train less is right. You can still make strength gain working out anywhere from 3-5 times per week. More doesn’t mean better or more effective. The change and strength gains happen in the rest and recovery. You have to let your body heal and repair itself from what you put it through.
