So can I follow Kris Gethin's 8-week muscle building trainer program? Because it is high in carbs.

I would suggest doing a transformation trainer first (8 week hardcore trainer). Then do a muscle building trainer (8 week muscle builder).
You’ll lose a bunch of fat, then your body will be after a couple of weeks of reverse dieting to respond well to a calorie surplus for mass.
