I think I'm a cheater. Ha, ha.
I read light weights are 5 to 8lbs. Is this true?
I used 2lbs and slow progress but some.

Light weight is individual.
Use the weight that challenges you for the number of repetitions prescribed (last couple of reps should feel very hard) and if this is not the case anymore then add weight.
The progress is coming by progressively overloading the body and the muscles and eating accordingly to your goals.
