How many days a week should I train with squats and deadlifts?

I split legs into quads and hams. So I do squats on Tuesdays (with other quad focused exercises) and Deadlifts on Saturdays (with other hamstring focued exercises.) What is your goal? There is a 5 x 5 program where you do some form of squat or deadlift 3 days a week.
